Default Picked up a President reel today

I've seen a lot of recommendations on the Presidents and I found the size 20 at Wal Mart on sale for $38. I've never really cast for crappie, pretty much straight drop jigging has been my tactic.

I can't wait to try this new reel out. I have a 6'6" light rod I can try it on but I'm in the market for a rod dedicated to it and looking for suggestions for casting light jigs.

    Sam Heaton Super Sensitive 7`
    Fenwick HMX 7`6
Have 4 of the Heatons and they will cast a light jig a long wats, same goes for the HMX.
HMX is a bit more sensitive, really like both rods.
I like a bigger reel/spool for casting light stuff line comes off easier.

Congratulations on your buy. Those Presidents reels are some good reels.

I think I have 7 of them in the 20,25,and 30 size and they do very well for the money. My two favorites are both 5’6”, one a Lightning Rod and the other a Fenwick. I fish some tight quarters and they do well shooting and pitching among the branches and docks.

Great reel choice. I have 5 of the size 20's and just like a good ole' Timex......they just keep on ticking! Pair that reel with SHSS in 7' length and you've got a wonderful casting combo. All of my reels are filled with 2# test Fireline Crystal with a 4' fluorocarbon leader. Casts like a dream.

where is the best choice for getting the SHSS as I have heard lots about it but only see it for retail price and I prefer to get some kind of discount on it.

The 20 size is a great choice for U/L. I have two of them and they have served me well. I would not hesitate to buy another. You got a very nice price.

Wal Mart when in stock has them on sale sometimes, they just do not last very long when they get them in usually on sale or not.
Grizzly Jig has them for 42.95 which is a pretty good price, I think I paid 39.00 for mine at Wal Mart when they had them.

I've got 4 Presidents and 2 Trions. The Presidents are my favorite.
