We need more info. From bank or boat. How big is lake, and whatever else you can provide.

Time on the water will help immensely. Also paying attention to what happened after you catch one. Speed of lure retrieval and also depth you were fishing. finding crappie at a lake never fished

Have you tried talking to any of the regulars on the lake? Many will help you if asked nicely.

Chetc, we all like having fun sometimes, so don't hold it against us. What lake are you talking about? If the lake has creeks running into it, would try there. There is also the Penna board, you can ask on. Just click on fishing forums, and go to the state board. Welcome to Crappie.com.

I was quite serious about talking to the regulars that fish the lake. Most crappie fishermen and women are nice people who will help out somebody just learning to fish for crappie or fish a new lake. They will probably not give you their prime honey hole but they will normally give you enough pointers to get you started on the lake.
