Default i need a better net

earlier this season i purchased a net for my boat, not knowing much then about nets, this one is a nightmare if i land a bass on a crankbait, so now i want to get one for bass and crappie, something that crankbaits won't be a headache. i see there are rubber coated types, but what do most fisherman here like

Rubber coat for sure. Live and learn on this one what ever you go with, if it is extendable it is bendable and useless after that.

I had an ego rubber net. Worked great but heavy. It broke so I’m using a frabil folding mesh net. It’s light but every hook gets stuck in the net.
Big T duralite on the way but it is a mesh net as well. Will update after use.

i dont know what we had the other day on the rig i got to ride in but ....
it was a super good crappie net with a REALLY long handle and rubber coated mesh
i think it was 10 or 12 foot in length and was excellent for a second person to operate from a distance

This is one I got at Grizzly Jig. It extends to about 8' and has a rubber covered string net. I have yet to hang a crankbait in it. The pool noodle floats I added. I tie a cord to the end of the handle with the other end tied to a cleat on the boat, or the railing of a dock I fish often. Then I throw it overboard. The noodles float the net with the front about 6" deep and the back of the net at water level. Works great while fishing alone. When the fish gets close I just lead it into net, and lift it with my free hand.

In the Grizzly Jig online catalog on page 166 - $36.95 - brand is Promar.
