need another crappie rod for my wife, something light in weight. rods i have in mine are

It's not just about casting distance. If it were, we would all be using surf rods with 8 ounce weights.

I don't have the TCB, but I have the old TSS (which alphahawk says is comparable) and 1/16 ounce does well on them. I have good results with 132 as well.

Another vote for the TCB. 1/16 with lure should go quite a ways.

I have both the TSS and the TCB. I don't really see any difference in casting distance of the two. I have got the SOS 2# line on them. I can tell you this if I didn't have them they would be on order. You might say I love my rods. Lol.
