    Default Lews makes nice rods

I was in love with a Lews speed stick when I was 16 years old . That rod was a total beast . Glow in the dark eyelets , medium and really fast one piece 6 foot with a Fuji grip on it .
The amount of species and numbers of fish that fell victim to it isn't in the believable realm and when my first wife broke it in the door of my truck one afternoon besides almost crying after having it longer than her , I actually considered packing her up and sending her back home to her mama !
Back to now we go , I pulled a real ding dong the other day with my really dandy little Lews laser lite . I had a jig get hung and slipped on my line when I pulled on it hard and my hand went back up the line and snapped off the rod tip !
So what is a fella to do you ask ? I ran down and dropped 30 bucks on a Brand new Lews that is very similar to the little laser lite . its actually a speed stick and feels a bit slower than the other rod ,but it performs pretty well .
I took it from the store to the water and fifteen minutes after it was bought it was on fish !
Not many larger specimens but I just had to test it some . It isn't a big fish rod by any means and rated 2 to 6 lb test but it has the sensitivity I require and it bends nicely .
Hope It handles the pressures I apply to tackle and on the bright side ....
it is just that in Chart and grey with black trim
34 fish in an hour and yes I used a Fle Fly go go minnow in chart and white on a chart head for most of the fish .
    KABOOM is the word yawl
p.s. temperature dropped about 15 degrees and the wind started had and the rain clouds came , so testing was officially over at that time .

So glad you could find a rod color that matches your personality (smile).

that spool is 6 lb Zebco Omniflex clear , i run thru about a spool of line a week ,so it isnt likely you will ever see high end line on any of my reels .
i will probably go with a tad smaller reel in the near future and 4 lb test ,but one never knows for sure .
6 lb mono feels a bit heavy on it to me ,but i hate to drop to 4 lb mono as its tough to handle something with any size and strength .
i tested it again yesterday for 30 minutes and one of the fish that took the jig was a 16 inch white bass and to be sure it might have taken my jig on 4 lb test as they really pull hard and are typically rough on light mono line with all those sharp edges on them fish
