Well went to local Walmart to see if any of those clearance sales were there. Nothing left. Everything fishing related was gone. Actually the whole fishing dept was pretty empty. I did happen to see this very same bright Ultra light Lews rod up in display as well as a 6’ medium light rod. Decided I should put my hands on it to see what Ketchn was talking about. Ended up leaving store with yet another rod. Thanks Ketchn.....lol.

Love me some Lew's tackle. I still have the speed stick I bought 40 years ago and the Bear Stick I bought 46 years ago. Got a pile of BB-1N & BB-1NGH reels from when I used to tournament bass fish. It is definitely solid gear and has accounted for tons of fish for me. Gonna have to check out some of the light tackle, though I'll need to get creative to fit any more rod & reels into my fishing cabinet.

Looks like you're wearing the new off that rod the right way, Ketchn. KABOOM to you!

mine ''was" an ultralite and about 5 ft 6 inches until its second visit in 24 hours to the water ....
i made it into 2 rods both just under 3 foot long
this is why they send me stuff to "test" ....
i am considerably harder on equipment than the average bear no doubt about it
    KERSNAP is the word ....

sometimes I push stuff pretty far past its intended limit and to be sure off the walmart rack who knows what it encountered before it met me . the Shake my spear broke about 2 weeks ago as well . hard hook set ,fair sized fish and when i lipped it about 3 inches of rod tip slip down to the fish .
not sure why but again it was at walmart and in the middle of the aisle on the floor ,so who knows .i just take them back and get a refund or a new rod , no biggie i suppose
the lews made it to about 40 fish
the shakespeare made it to around 500
thank goodness neither rod cost much
no worries i glued on a new stainless tip on an old 7 ft prototype last night
and put that new lews reel i bought on it
    hope they pair well
and i hope KABOOM is NOT the word this time
