Default Navionics App for I Phone

I am a poor man, almost horse-drawn. My boat has a 2D sonar, and a hand-held Garmin GPS. I just got my first smart-phone, an I-Phone SE. No, I didn't buy it, my wife gave it to me for my birthday in June.

Is there a Navionics app for the I-Phone that is worth using?

Thanks, in advance, for the help.

    Dean

    Hey Dean,

I don't know about Navonics but HB has a nice app. That I use. You can get it free on there web site. I have purchased some of the lake maps. You can also sign up and get the free maps that people put on the site. I have just about covered NW river, Tully Creek.

I have Navionics app on my android phone and it works great. I assume it will work on Apple. Well worth the $20/yr fee.

Yes. It's great for sharing with your buddies. You can take him right to your mark and he can set a waypoint on his unit. Also you can save any points he shares with you on your phone.
I find it extremely helpful especially because you can review your tracks and points at home and make changes and add points you may have missed on the water. ( islands, humps, ditches, bridges etc)

I also have Navionics on my IPhone. It works great but the screen isn't clearly visible in daylight sun. I bought the Bad Elf GPS receiver in hope of using the IPad but again, not good in open sunshine.

I've used navionics app before, on an Android though. Make sure, sure, sure, you check your save settings.
I lost all waypoints on an update, I didn't have something set right, that was my fault, not navionics fault.
The bad thing about using your phone, as mentioned, is lack of visibility in the sun. Also, not using it in the rain.
This is why I bought a Garmin Striker 4, with gps, $100.

I have good gps in my boat but still paid for the navionics app for my iPhone SE. it has lots of lakes and contours that are not on my other units plus it’s handy for bank fishing.

I'm very frustrated with it personally. I've downloaded the maps and the coverage of the MS river is really, really bad. The maps aren't very accurate on the lakes around here either.

I have the HB map card and it doesn't cover the MS river at all. It's really frustrating. I'd buy the Navionics map card if I knew it would have maps for the lakes I fish and good coverage of the MS river.

Check out the Navionics web app and you can see what the maps look like in your area.
