Foot deep ! in some spots they were around 8 foot deep in 10 fow early and later in the day they were 4 foot deep in 14 fow .
Why shallower at noon is because huge rafts of half grown shad were up on the surface .
Hit the lake twice yesterday , 2 hours in a boat 8 am to 10 am and 30 minutes at lunch time off the dock ,noon straight up .
Did the graph on the boat help much you might ask , NO not really even though we had 2 running . Knowing where and how and when is the ticket and to be quite sure when you know a lake and its seasonal traditions you will likely find the fish .
Set out a condo and the captain of the boat kept 20 something on the boat ride .
Tossed another 10 or so nice fish back at lunch time .
Used only 3 different jigs , 2 natural colored ones and a very old reconditioned pepto bismal my good buddy Sk gave me a while back . I repainted the head with glitter nail polish...
Fish like it moving slowly with a few twitches and quite often hit the jig in true hammer fashion . Was a really nice Monday
KABOOM is the word
p.s. Even got to see about 25 large crappie come up on the surface right in front of me
and hammer the shad like bass do .....very cool stuff for sure
