NO ONE has to apologize on this site for the size of crappie they are ketchn. ONLY 12 inch fish? Dude you are killing it and enjoy watching your video's. Heck right now if your showing pics of ketchn 7 inch fish that's fine as we just like to know guys are out wetting a line.

You are right, this lake is crazy with all type of ppl from old rich snob to young party animal type. We have open can policy, so you see ppl drink everywhere, at the beach on the boat or golf cart. My fishing trip end at around 9:00AM from those water skiers and the waves. Canyon lake is not a big lake, only 400 acres, long but narrow. The bite always die off when those boat start running back and forth.

Do you only use 8 lb line? To get some jigs to cast further, try going smaller, to 4 or 2 lb line.

I doubt it would help much with my baitcaster. I know I can get some more distance but it would cost me more than I wanted. There are some guys in BFS hype buying 3-400 dollars BFS reel then upgrade the spool for another 150-200, upgrade to BFS air bearing 40 dollars, just to be able to cast trout magnet 30-40’. I’m not one of them. Beside that using super thin line, there are chances that the line will get into the gap between spool and frame (this happens a lot with those cheap Chinese reels or using cheap Chinese spool)
