Default Lake of the Ozarks for a Newb

Howdy everyone. I’m planning on taking a week long camping and fishing trip to LOZ and being a total newb to MO and LOZ as a whole I was hoping people could direct me in the best portions of the lake to fish. It’s huge and google has been helpful in the tip that shooting docks is always a good thing (nothing I didn’t know before and that goes for any lake). I’m headed there either the first of second week in September and my boat is setup to spider rig, troll cranks, jig hardwoods...pretty much anything for crappie. I have not booked a campground yet but I was looking at State Park on the Grandglaze arm. Is that side of the lake productive or should I be looking at different arms, long rides or a different campground on a different side of the lake? Thanks for your input

I can’t help you any with LOZ as I’ve never been but I’ll be watch ing in this thread as I’m sure some of the MO guys chime in and I’d be interested in good campground and fishing there myself.

Look for docks off points with rod holders, fish cleaning stations or enclosed fishing docs. They are likely to have brush piles. LOZ had all the timber removed before it was filled, (unfortunately). When fishing the docs, don't forget small lures. You can also troll small lures to locate fish
