    Default The NEW TACO Tuesday

To start with YES I hammered the fish at a different lake from the shore yesterday at high noon . I even used the same jig I had tied on from the day before !
These fish were much like the fish at the other lake , 8 foot of water and wanting it drug slowly by them with tiny hops close to the bottom .I didn't stay long as it was REALLY beat down hot in the sun and it was my lunch break . My shaded locations are for whatever reason not as attractive this year to me , go figure right .
15 fish will hold me for 24 hours most of the time ,so to say the least I am ok till i hit the water again later today at another lake .
So whats the NEW TACO Tuesday about since i kept zero fish for me and didnt defrost any crappie you might ask recently ? Well its a long story but about a year ago my wife insisted we try some ALLIGATOR . It sat in the freezer until yesterday .
I told her we will break tradition and make some fried in a cast iron skillet alligator tacos .Without making you drool all over your computer screens out there in internet land I must tell you this .....
Them tacos were about beyond ridiculous TASTY !
I will most certainly have them again soon and to be sure the thought crossed my mind about giving up crappie and just making gator my new freezer friends .
    WOW and for sure ....

I have to wipe my monitor down now from drooling. Looks tasty but did you hunt the gator yourself or buy it? Truly part of the fun is the challenge of hunting/fishing for the meal. Ahh who am I kidding I love a good burger and not like I hunted the cow.....hahaha.

got it in Mississippi at a road side stand along the way last year .
i have seen what looked to be the same packaging and maybe even the same brand at Walmart here in Texas .
one thing for certain, i trimmed a bit of "silver" meat off it like i would a deer and fried it extra crispy and ....
we sat around trying to decide if it tasted most like chicken , fish , frog , or snake ,,,,and lizard got in the mix of guessing as well

I don't know about down your way Dave, but up here where I am, the folks on the news started saying meat shortage due to the Corona virus and you couldn't find meat of any kind in the stores. Kinda like the paper products a few weeks earlier. So we was hunting cows, chickens and pigs from store to store...

havn't noticed any meat shortages here in STL area.

have had gator and it's good. havn't hunted for them, one thing I will let someone else do that has the right equipment for it.

It’s tougher to ketch an alligator on lunch break. At least that’s what I’ve heard.
