FAST double limit Monday

I hit my trusty favorite hole yesterday . Had to wait at the front gate until 8 sharp for them to open . So in front of me is an old stick steer rig and a stranger . I get out to spool up some fresh line as we have 15 minutes to wait . He gets out to ready his boat . We start a conversation and as we chat he says well look at that . Low and behold a line of wild hogs about walks right behind me within a stones throw !
We chat a bit more and he askes if i want to ride with him since i am on foot and he is alone . So i tell him well i really dont have lots of time and he says he is only there for 2 hours . I said thats all the longer i will be here myself .
Well i told him its liable to be some serious fish slinging and as long as he dont mind me slinging them all over the place i might do it . he says i got an ice chest and you can sling them right into it !
Well to say the least it was fast and furious . he said let me show you my spots and i told him after 10 years a hitting this little lake i know several myself . he headed straight to a shallow spot i like and as i told him we aint going to ketch lots ,but there will be a few decent ones there . sure enough 3 hit the box quick and he wants to go to the other side and i said sure show me your spots ! well second stop was good but he wanted to move . the bite was steady and about 5 or 6 and we move . next spot ok as well and 6 or 8 in the box .
last stop was poor and only 1 fish and as we approached it his little 100 dollar graph showed a herd of fish i really wanted to hit . i started casting to them and it was on and told him if you get a little closer we will hurt them really bad . he moved over to them and it was fast and furious i tell ya .
long story shorter we sat there for about an hour and loaded his box with a double limit .we used just jigs in several colors and some i didnt think were pretty did very well and some that were pretty not so much .
i warned him about the mess a fish we were going to ketch and he told me in a text later he about burned up his electric knife and was used to about a dozen and not 50 . Next text was this .....
You want to go with me again in the morning ?
KABOOM is that little 19 dollar shake my spear rod yawl
p.s. 6 to 10 foot of water , 8 30 to 10 30 am , liked it moving close to the bottom .used bobby garlands , arkie and customs and lost 2 really large something fish in the mix .
on a final note YES my new straw hat is a trooper and yes he had my permission as the law requires to keep my fish !
