Went out again today. I caught a 12 inch walleye and she handled it just fine with the net.
She also caught a 4 lb channel cat. I told her she could loose that one at the boat anytime. We had a good time, never caught a crappie, but, we did bring home a few white bass.
And no she no longer holds the state record for New Mexico. Although her walleye was bigger than the current one. Just weighed less. She caught he state record on 1/1/1985. No place was open to "officially" weigh it that day. And as she wanted to get it mounted, we froze it. That made it loose a lot of weight. She also had a write up in Field and Stream and InFishermn. Plus some free stuff from Bagleys lures and Humminbird. I forget what finder we were using at the time, but it was a humminbird graph and they sent her a jacket and pants.

Yes, she was hoping to see you smile. You may not have caught the big walleye but it sounds like you caught a great wife!
i don't think there will be any better time to walk up to her with a picture of a new boat, make sure you have a huge smile on your face and tell her that this would make your fishing trips that much better. then point to spot and say...that big net we need would go right here and be so much easier to get to, don't ya think?
