Cool idea. Wonder how long it stays cold and how well it transfers the cold on the outside.

Why not just use a couple of 2 liter bottles filled with water, squeeze the sides a bit, put the cap back on, and freeze? It's cheaper and should work better (being a larger diameter)?

I guess being able to customize the length to fit the cooler might be nice.

This is what I have always done except with smaller bottles. When the bottles thaw you have ice water to drink. One or 2 in your minnow bucket will keep minnows alive even in the hottest weather. Disadvantage is having to carry an extra cooler full of frozen bottles of water.

I saw this and thought pretty neat and I would share. I have a smaller ice chest I found at trash dump I use on my kayak. A 2 liter bottle is to large, drinking bottles with slime all over them didn’t seem to appealing to me. Besides if you take them out to drink what’s keeping fish cold then? I just think making the pvc custom fit the bottom of cooler and only using bottom 2” is a cool idea. Thought I would share.
