    I think this is a really cool idea. I had been using the attached video showing how to also make a gel pack for injuries as well as using PVC ice packs for coolers.

    The frozen plastic bottles go in the food cooler to initially keep the food cool and then to drink later in the day.

    These PVC tubes, I think, would work well in the fish cooler for the trip home. Then wash them off and refreeze them for the next trip.

    Is there anything that might work better than water? Like something that freezes "harder" or lasts longer?

    500 ml water
    50 ml Propylene Glycol
    1 tsp Hydrophilic polymer crystals
    Salt
    Rum or Alcohol

    We put a little salt in our pvc coolers to prevent them from freezing solid. Easy to wash off and stick back in freezer for the next trip
