TMs have no "schtick".

The TM is a finesse bait. Finesse baits aren't known for their "schtick". Look at the Ned Rig, one of the hottest bass baits of the last few years. It's just a short chunk of plastic on a small jig head.

TM's definitely work for me.

trout magnets stay on the store shelf here for good reason , just saying

Maybe it's because people see the "trout" in the name and think, "Well, I don't fish for trout."

My local Walmart doesn't even carry TM's, even though they're deadly in my local waters.

Try the TM with a small piece of nibble or Randy's Berkley worm cut into pieces all the way down the hook to force the legs open.
Jeff Smith, the owner of Leland's has commented previously on this in videos, saying it may resemble an egg sack.
He has also commented on the crappie jig cross barb forcing the legs open on the crappie magnets as the key to their sucess.
I assumed, (yes, I know), that the smaller size and shape of the Leland's crappie nibbles were to help maintain the TM's open legged stance.
Or, I could be wrong.

I have had good luck with TM baits. There is nothing fancy about them but they do work. I use them as more of a all around bait when I just casting and retrieving. Sometime crappie want a small simple bait and this is when I tie on the TM. They are not my favorite baits but they do have a place in my tacklebox.

Do you think that all of us on here who catch fish with TM's is hype? Do you think the 106 videos I made in 2 years of where 95 percent of the fish are caught on a TM is hype? You need to stick with what works for you. Speak nice about the lure you catch fish with but don't badmouth lures other folks are catching fish with. Did you ever think you maybe you don't know how to fish a Trout Magnet?

I actually said that I had success with the Panfish magnets.

I'm not sponsored by anyone and I haven't let my opinion be bought by anyone.

But one thing I sure won't do is start belittling people who don't use baits that I'm compensated to promote

Yep, only considerably different than a beetle spin. It doesn't have a spinner, the split tail is longer and softer. It has more traditional "bass" colors, IMHO.

There is plenty of proof that TMs work. I've not had an actual tm. I've got the crappie magnets (which are a bit big for bluegills. I have some panfish magnets. I want to know if the TMs are bigger or smaller than the PMs

Trout Magnet and Panfish Magnet bodies are identical. I’m not compensated by anyone for anything.

I for one have had good success on the Trout Magnets. I keep one on my ultra lite just about all the time.Bluegill s love them and I've caught my fair share of bass and white bass on them too. Thank you Alphahawk for recommend ing them several years ago.

To each their own. Use whatever works best for you. Confidence, success and most important fun is all that matters. On my warmwater Creek yesterday I had a smallie/crappie/pan day with the TM. Others mileage may vary greatly. Use what works - let the rest go.....
