Crappiepappy can tell you about the norseman rods. He tested one of the first.

I like the BnM Sam Heston Super Sensitive....I recently bought a more expensive rod and find myself fishing the SHSS.

Check Grizzly Jig catalog online ... and look for ESP Series rods. Those are the Norsemen Outdoors ESP rods that Ketchn & SuperDave are referring to .... and yes, I was a Field Tester for the designer.
You can look on the Norsemen Outdoors webpage ( Norsemen Outdoors – Premium Products for the Great Outdoors ) to see their whole lineup of ESP rods and read about their features (but the Grizzly Jig prices are lower).
Right off the bat, though, I'd say look for another brand if you have any intentions of using a slip float ... for the simple reason that all the ESP rods have micro guides/tips and they are not user friendly with many of the "bobber stops".

You want to stay under the $50 budget range .... Grizzly has several brands with 10' rods that are priced in the $30-$40 range. (like the Pinnacle 10' IM7 Med/Crappie spinning rod, many of the HT brand rods, or Houston brand rods). I mention these on the basis of price, alone, as I have no personal experience with these brands.
