Well. Posted my ProGuide 175 WT on FB marketplace and had over 20 responses. Two people are coming to look at it rThursday.
im looking to buy a pontoon with a 150 hp minimum, maybe a tri-toon. Really don’t know the real difference between the 2 toons and the tri-toon models on the water. But I do know I really don’t want another tracker, but my local BPS has a decent deal on a 24’ with a 150 mercury tri-toon
decisions decisions, has anyone actually used a pontoon to crappie fish out of?
Do not even think about trading a boat in at BPS. They will not give you anything for it or do they want used boats. Sell your boat yourself. Then find a local dealer & buy from them.

We've got a guide on KY Lake and that's all he uses, I think he's even on here but I can't recall his screen name. He trolls a lot for crappie and vertical fishes spoons and such for other species as well. I'd love to be able to troll with a pontoon simply for the extra room and all that railing to put rod holders on.
It's hard to beat the room of a pontoon.
If you can afford the tri-toon, get it. I have had a few dual-toons and have always dreamed of a tri-toon, the tri-toons won't nose dive near as bad as the dual toons in rough water, they tend to ride higher in the water (less drag), and they distribute the weight better. Only drawback to a tri-toon is they are heavier, require a more robust trailer, and can sometimes be a little more difficult to handle/steer while docking but any seasoned skipper can handle that with ease.

I have a 2018 Trifecta Tritoon with a Yammy F200, 22 hours on it (several years of warranty left)! It is setup to spider rig, pull cranks/jigs out of the front and rear with custom built Hitek rod holders. Has an Ultrex 80# I-pilot link with quick change plate, Humminbird G2N Mega SI at console, Humminbird G2N DI at bow with 5 port ethernet switch. Dual Pro 3 bank battery charger that charges all 4 of the batteries. It took me forever to find this boat with the particular layout that allows for fishing AND plenty of room for passengers while cruising or playing, 12 person capacity. It has the two 3/4 benches in front of the console port and starboard along with two captains fishing chairs up front and the L shape bench with the popup changing/storage compartment or layout bench. Radio, mood lighting, seagrass flooring (no carpet), 2.75 performance package which includes lifting strakes and solid underbelly etc etc.
Will run 42 mph with me and equipment and 37-38 mph with 5-6 adults. Has never sat in the water for more than two days and stays covered and stored in a building. To answer your question between a pontoon vs tritoon......it is night and day difference!! The ride and handle is SO much better on the tritoon.
It will be for sale and I have had 2 people beg me to price it but I have not found what I want yet so I am afraid to price it! I am considering it as I have a War Eagle that is setup the same way so technically I have something I can fish out of if it does sell.
The only reason I am going to sell it is my niece and nephews don't care that much for the lake and I don't get out and joy ride that often, the boat has only pulled a tube 1 time!
I am going to sell it and the War Eagle and go to one nice dual purpose boat to primarily fish out of. I am wanting an Xpress H22 Bay and no one has any in stock for miles around!!
Message me and we can talk more if interested.
