    Default Ace is the place

I often think ace hardware is kinda out of touch with todays marketing scheme but when you need some odd ball piece it never fails they seem to have it! i put new hubs on a boat trailer today and needed thin washers to go behind the castle nuts my trailer people had none i go to ace and they pulled them right out of the box i was in heaven!

Ace usually has most of what I need. After I quit shopping LOWES permanently due to their stance on support for Law Enforcement I am enjoying Ace and our local hardware stores.

I worked for ace hardware in Nashville when I was in college at Nashville auto diesel college and enjoyed working there! Yes it’s more expensive than the big box store but having the personal interaction is priceless in my book! I was supposed to be helping customers but it seemed more often than not they were helping me learn! I could tell them where items were and they could teach me how to use them!

You can't beat the local hardware stores, they work hard for our business.

That’s the truth. I love my local Ace, and so far they have had what I need. What amazed me awhile back was their assortment of metric nuts, bolt, and screws. I’ve gotten some hard to find sizes there, plus they are very helpful.

When it comes to fasteners, it's hard to beat the selection of stuff at Fastenal.....most people don't know about it even though they are everywhere. I usually go there for specialty items that most places don't stock.

Ace isn't bad, the few I've been to though were high on price and the bin I always needed stuff from was empty more times than not. I'm sure it varies by location.

Rural King and Tractor Supply are pretty much my go-to places for common fasteners, so much easier and cheaper to buy by the pound the way they do it.

The fastener prices at Lowes and Home Depot are insane, but people gladly pay it for whatever reason.

Fastenal is good if you know what you are wanting. You can go to ACE and look around and see something and say "oh wait, that little piece would work better whatever it is called". Have to know what you are wanting at Fastenal.
