You ever go out on a lake you kind of know.....but can't even find a fish on the sonar let alone get a bit, nibble or anything.
I mean i saw some carp......but that was it. I toured the entire lake looking for marks, trying spots that should have atleast given up sunfish....nadddaa. zilch...zero......

okay, something is very wrong.......today I was a lake that I never come out empty handed on....well i could see them on the sonar at least....but one bass...one stinkin bass.
all the tried and true techniques are failing, minnows are failing....sadly even the slab sauce is failing.
even broke out the bettle spins, crappie magnets, trout magnets, many different colors and sizes.....
I'm at a loss.........
I did manage to snag the underside of the boat, another fishing rod....and lastly...the trolling motor...that's when i knew it was time to leave.

Well today wife and I went out too. We couldn't get bit by bugs much less crappie. So I went to a little point that always has a white bass or two. I hooked into something big, and I mean big. He spooled me and broke of that 2 lb line. Never saw it. Have no idea what is was. I assume it was a drum. Any way there is a big ol cottonwood leaning out aver the water where we ate lunch. 98 degrees out and we are in the boat under the cotton wood. It didn't get no better. Came home and my Helix 9 was sitting in a box on the porch, back from repair. Tomorrow I hit the lake again. This time with the helix instead of the the lowrance x45. And if I don't get bit, I am gonna have lunch under that cotton wood tree.
As someone else said....even the bad days fishing are better than a lot of other days when you're not on the water )
