What a great post. My gramma did not fish (either one of them) but my dad took me fishing at an early age. Quite the taskmaster but like learning to hunt some things need to be just right. We used a stringer just like that but when dad passed it took me forever to go through 10+ tackle boxes to consolidate a massive amount of lures and paraphernalia. I tried to save everything I could including old reels. Great memories!

Love it... The last trip I made home to La. we went to the old lake camp.. I grabbed a few treasures from the past too.. My grandads old tackle box with some old baits, old dish pans, an old pair of green coffee cups and a few other miscellaneous items... I took them to the camp we own on the canal her in Fl and put them in the display case.. I almost tear up with all the old memories they bring back of by gone times... what a wonderful time in life

Thank you for a awesome story!!! It's difficult to type on smart with the screen wet from tears. I was so lucky to have a grandma and mom who instilled fishing in me. I miss them so much. Thank you for the story again
