That’s a day you’ll both remember forever! Awesome pictures!
And you might ask yourself what on earth that might have to do with crappie right ?
Well i would say this about that , Bluegill love weenies and a good report card makes for big smiles .
Last day of school yesterday and pick up your stuff and report card and see ya . So what does a dad do with half a day off work and a loss of only an hour on said school activities ?
He says hey you want to go fishing ? She says YES !
So off to Ez's place we went for some ketchn of fish . The little is getting to be right good at it lately and i was pretty sure i would get to ketch a crappie or 2 and quite possibly a few bluegill .
We only stayed a little over an hour due to the pizza/movie party we had planned for her celebration ,but boy howdy was THE BITE on FIRE !
She stopped at 42 bluegill and i managed about a dozen crappie for grins in the back ground . Not many larger fish in the mix ,but to be sure they ate baits like crazy .
The crappie liked a pearl head jig with a pearl plastic on it no scent required kuz ….
(i didn't have none )
The bluegill were flat out in love with and literally fighting each other over the ballpark franks . She used a float a little while and she dropped it vertical and she managed at least 15 or so with no help what so ever from me . Heck at one point she said WOW dad look at this one , and i turned around to see a beautiful fat bluegill dangling on her rod tip.
I kinda wish i could have concentrated on the crappie as they were for sure hungry and in numbers , but the kid ketchn fire out of the bluegills was a nice distraction no doubt .
she has to have me take them off the hook , the rest of it she has handled .
We did feed a heron about a half dozen and let the rest swim on . She loves the great blues and this one was friendly and really large . The fascination on her face watching it eat them and even spear a few was worth every second of the traffic and odd drivers i encountered along the way .
Thanks so much Ez for the cans of pringles for the ride home and the opportunity to enjoy such a bounty of fish in peace and quiet .

It does my heart good to see parents who give there time to teach and spend time with their children. If there is a bright spot in this situation its parents have spent more time with their children than ever before. Congratulations to the both of you.

Do you know how a child spells LOVE?.....T-I-M-E !!
Time spent with the kids is an investment that keeps on paying down the road.
