Default Which electronic at console and front?

At the console I’m thinking side imaging or something that is an all-in one. If using side imaging to mark spots, how do you maximize GPS accuracy? If marking from unit, wouldn’t the spot be a minimum of ~5-6’ off?

For the front unit, is there any value in a side imaging or down imaging since the boat is nearly stationary?

It is not what you do for your children, but what you have taught them to do for themselves, that will make them successful human beings.

I have a side imaging+down imaging transducer on the stern for the console unit, and then a down imaging transducer on the bow built into the trolling motor for the bow unit.

You're right that side imaging requires a forward motion. It would be nice to have it on the bow too, but unless you're willing to install a transducer bracket like the Da' Ducer Apparatus from Podunk Ideas, then I wouldn't mess with it on the bow....use the savings to get a bigger unit at the console.

I use one head unit only.
    The Garmin 126sv. I have 2 cradles.

One on the bow..... one on the helm.

So i just snap out.....snap in, bow or helm.
I use it on bow for livescope.

Both cradles, livescope are networked through the Garmin network port Expander.

To make your GPS waypoints you mark more accurate you should mount the antenna as close to the transducer as possible.

I have my bird 10 on the console and one on the front. I built my own livescope mount and have my transducer for my bird10 mounted on also on the live scope bracket. If you find a brush pile on side scan move your cursor over to the brush and hit mark, it will mark it right on the brush. then you can turn around and use your map to go right to it with t/m .
I would agree with you, but then we would both be WRONG !!!!

Down and side on the quadrant... down on the front... waypoints on both. New troll motor has slick feature where can set it in your hand held control and it will take you to the exact spot.

I will have live sight when they work the bugs out.

SI at Console, had DI at bow, added SI to bow. I can spin the trolling motor, prop off, to pin point fish around me while anchored up. I'm still running legacy units. 899 and 898. One day I'll upgrade to Helix 10's and 360.
