Does she know how much time you really spend fishing those bank and dock spots each week? Before work..... at lunch......after work on way home....does she read this website? I hope you do acquire a boat....more KABOOM!
I named a brush pile many years ago the 1,000 fish a week pile . We used to hit it almost daily .
Some thought I was joking ,but those that went with me knew otherwise .
4 hours and 2 folks pretty good at jigging could go over 200 easily .
roll up and anchor the boat down and go to it ….
I miss that brush pile and its just about 25 to 30 feet past a real good long shoreline cast .
the reason it is worthy of mention is I had a guide friend the other day mention the pile to me .
as we chatted about his recent visits to that lake , I told him of another pile along that shoreline .
and he said ….oh yeah the thousand fish a week pile …..and I said no sir its about 500 yards farther to the west in the mouth of the next cove ……
that 1,000 fish a week pile was my favorite pile for jig training , I used to take folks over there who needed to get into fish with a jig .
sure made my day to watch folks ketch their personal bests and numbers of fish .
man those were good times …..wish I didn't need money …
I would retire by golly and get me a little boat and go back to it ….
but these days I just cant find much spare time .
the wife even told me this ,why would you buy a boat ?, you don't have time for it anymore
the things that want to stop my KABOOM are endless ….
but stay the path I say …..and stay tuned ….
I might not be boat less all summer ...it could happen you know

the yak crossed my mind about a million times , but some spots I like to hit on top of the water I often travel the lake to spots I prefer and most of the time they are past what I consider paddling distance in a short period of time
