These don’t take up much room. Jump start the boat or somebody else’s. And extra power for cell phone

Got one of those in both of my boats. They will boost any dead battery in a few seconds and will stay fully charged I know for over a year.

A spare prop washer is important too (I guess technically it's a spacer, but "cheap insurance".

I got to thinking the other day what would happen and I got thrown overboard with the engine shut off cord (lanyard) attached to my person. By the time the motor stopped and the boat stopped moving forward I could be some distance from the boat. If I had someone else in the boat they would not have any means of starting the engine to come get me as the shut of cord would be attached to me. So next trip to the store I will buy a spare and keep it attached to the starting key.

not on mine, it's a button that the safety keeps pulled out. With no safety to put back the person in the boat would have to hold the button out until they got the safety to put back in.

Mines is like what wannabe said, the clip holds the button out and would be hard to hold in the out position. Ninety nene percent of the time I'm fishing with Linda and I know she couldn't do it. Of course there is always the trolling motor but with her bad knees I don't think that option world work either. So as I said I'll get me another clip and keep it on the key ring. She can handle the boat and motor enough to get to me.

I carry a 216pc Craftsman Versastack tool box (only $99 and the entire tool box is plastic), pliers, 2 stroke oil, oil for my power trim, extra bulbs for the trailer and night lights, jumper cables, timing light and the seloc manual for my engine.

I keep a couple of airplane bottles of whiskey in the back hatch of my kayak in case the engine ever needs lubrication or I run into a fellow fisherman who needs to celebrate. So far, they're still there.
