Dad comes back, asks wheres the boat, and why didn't you hold the rope. you show him the rope in your hand and point to the boat. Dad, jumps in water and retrieves boat, then realized his wallet is still in his wet pants....pulls boat to dock, ties boat to dock after securing rope to boat. retrieves truck and trailer, and re-trailers boat. pulls in parking lot and strips off wet clothes. On way home gets pulled over by police for not securing boat to trailer,(forgot to attach bow line and boat just about to fall off trailere. Cop asks why he was naked, and after explanation, both had a good laugh. Cop leaves dad in truck and cranks boat back onto trailer, makes dad put on wet pants, and lets us go...This happened in 1964, I was 8 yrs old, And I remember it well...
