Default KNOCKING THE PAINT OFF IT ?

You know ,this phrase is common among some crappie fisher folks . Someone will tell you they bit so hard they were knocking the paint right off the jighead .It sometimes feels that way you know . anyway …….
Case in point ...yesterday at lunch break …..let the fishee story begin >>>>>
I got some test baits sent to me from Oklahoma , a friend of a friend sent me the 3 amigos . Told me his bud who poured them said they wouldn't work in Texas !
I of course thought sure sure whatever and my bud said I bet if someone could make them eat a certain color in Texas you could
So I ambled down to a spot I like and I pitched said pretty Yellow Tailed chart bug looking thing on a chart minnow head 1/16 in the water to see if maybe a crappie in Texas would in fact bite this particular bait in that color . The bait slowly fell back to me and before I was ready ….
    K A B O O M ! Up comes a decent white crappie by golly !
Second pitch same deal the jig falls back to me and K A B O O M and on the hook set the fish SNAPS my line !
Now mind ya I got another in my pocket ….rule number 1 of the KICKS program btw ...always have at least one more of the same bait in your pocket ,just in case they really like it …..and you lose the first one ….
So as you can imagine I am getting one tied back on right fairly quickly . Kinda like a New York minute quickly I might add !
And it began to be a stellar hour long visit to the water . Them crappie were hitting that there bug so ridiculous hard it wasn't even funny . I mean bone jarring thumps so hard its difficult to put into words !
One could EVEN go so far as to say ….KNOCKING THE PAINT OFF IT …..
Particulars were as follows ….a bit after 12 , cloudy and really windy ,fish were in around 8 foot of water close to the bottom ,liked it slowly moving and it wasn't a case of I think I just got bit !
So if someone says they were KNOCKING THE PAINT OFF IT in the future …..it might be so ….
by the time I went back to work that there jighead was a no paint jighead ….
Them fish took a bit of paint off that jighead every time one hit it until some fella rolled up and I masked up and went on back to work . He was thinking he was sneaky watching me sling them from a distance and then came down from the way yonder right quickly with that ole look of like he just kinda happened along my way on his face
KABOOM is ALWAYS the word yawl and to be sure that was some kinds a really great fun
