    Just a FYI. A 500 series reel is a ultra-light reel. A 1000 series reel is a light or medium-light reel. I like 1000 series reels for crappie/white bass. I use a 500 series for bluegills.

Ok, go to Home and look at closeout or clearance reels. They are great line holders and cost like $7. Then go to the rods section and find your choice. There are too many good ones to pinpoint just one.

Y'all aren't hi-jacking the thread. The only time I care about hi-jacks is when I post "looking for a fishing buddy" and someone else says "hey, I've got a boat, let's go" and someone else then pops in with "I PM'd you <to the guy with the boat>". LOL

Is this the triple cross model you are talking about. It does look nice.

Daiwa makes good reels, too. Even their lower-end models are good.

There's a zillion rods you could use. Check out the Bass Pro Microlites.

I use Siennas on most all my rods and love them. No problems after a couple of years use.
