Default One good thing about this wind...

It has allowed (forced?) me to get a lot of things crossed of my "to do" list. It blew hard all day here yesterday and it's blowing a gale here again today. Here is just over 6 cord of next winter's firewood all stacked and covered and OFF MY LIST!

I even got the pine limbs that came down in an ice storm cleaned up and carted off so the lawn looks nice and is ready to mow when the grass starts growing. My wife is very happy with me as getting those limbs cleaned up was on her list for me to do, too. Happy Mother's Day, dear! (she hates getting gooped up with pine pitch).

To top it off, I did some work for a friend a while back and of course didn't charge him for it; he dropped of a Cabela's gift card in return and I now have a new rod and reel that I'm itching to try out if this wind ever lays down and the temperature mellows out some.

I was talking this week with one of our new members (WC870) and he was showing me some pics and relating some tales of he and his son fishing in the last week or 2; really made me want to get out there and get after them! Days are getting longer and once the weather settles, maybe I can get out after work for an evening jaunt.
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.

Man, it's like the springtime chores grow to be more and more every year. Very nice. It's got to feel pretty good to have crossed such large "accomplishments" off of your springtime "to do" list.
That's what I call making good use of this stretch of rough and unsettled springtime weather and clearing your calendar for the awesome fishing weather yet to come.

Excellent job! I've already mowed my lawn once already. Not because it really needed it, but I'm sooooooooooooo bored! Wish I were fishing!
