Default tricks for keeping mosquitos away in the boat?

I've been fishing after sunset lately but the mosquitoes are starting to come out. I've been wearing a long sleeve shirt but they get around my head and neck. Any tips on ways to keep them away?

There are various head nets you can buy. I use one similar to this:

I think Walmart has one that’s even cheaper.

I've heard they're effective, but I don't know that they're as safe as I would like - especially for whatever fish I catch but might want to release.

"Toxicity of Thermacell Mosquito Repellent containing d-cis/trans allethrin: d-cis/trans allethrin is labeled Caution category III for mammalian exposure (slightly toxic to relatively non-toxic), non-toxic to birds and highly toxic to fish and invertebrates. As with anything volatile, chronic exposure (continued exposure over long periods of time) may lead to adverse health effects but studies are lacking on long-term exposures to mosquito repellents of this kind..."

I started experiencing a skin reaction to DEET many years ago, so nowadays I just use a mesh bug suit: head net, jacket and pants.

Deep wood off has always worked for me. Also hear Avon skin so soft keeps them away.

Thermacell. Less effective if you're moving. Great for stationary fishing.
