Throw them back.
when you fish your normal lake one day, your typical brush piles, catch many fish...but they are all undersize???
I think one may have been legal
I agree ... and I'd throw them ALL back. I'd chalk it up as a learning experience, thump therapy, and getting my pullage quota for the day, and then go home happy to have had the opportunity to "play around" with the feisty youngsters (until we meet again & they've grown up)

I agree with tossing them back. I would back away from the brush and stop at the first sign of deeper water with a break or some other structure. Bigger ones may have retreated.

Early last fall I bet I caught 30 6-8" specks on a new structure I had passed over for many years. I spanked em on the bottom. Thanked em for the ride. And sent em on their way with a minnow in their mouth. Marked that spot, noted it in my ledgar and promised em I'd be back. I fealt really good about next season.

Ever been to a playground? Where’s grandpa? He’s not in there going toe to toe with the kids, he’s sitting off to the side waiting for something interesting to happen. What you've been told about moving around some is spot on. They’re still fish and it may not work every time but it has helped me find better fish.
