I hate to admit to it, but once as I was alone and in the boat about to drive it up onto the trailer, I was horrified to see the reverse lights on in my truck! The engine was running, but the parking brake was on, so the truck didn’t move...that time. Never do that again!

The grass withers and the flower fades, but the word of our God shall stand forever.
Is it better to have the engine off or on? Or does it matter? I really don't know. Mechanics out there? Can you help?
The way things are today, when I launch or retrieve I shut mine down AND TAKE MY KEYS WITH ME. It's a good walk from the courtesy dock back to the car and in that time it would be too easy for some unscrupulous person to jump in and take off if you leave the keys in it, worse if you leave it running.
Hope for the best, expect the worse.

It is not what you do for your children, but what you have taught them to do for themselves, that will make them successful human beings.

Very sad, prayers for the family. All your posts have really stirred my gray matter and will make me a safer fisherman at the ramp.
