That happened to me and I quit going to boat ramps. Boat ramps here are always crowded but way too crowded for me with this virus.

It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!
As far away as possible, I would say atleast 50 feet if you can. Especially in a boat that should be relatively easy anytime. I've been wade fishing and launching my scamp in places well off the beaten path. Seen a wade fishermen Sunday and we spoke from a distance. Yep, most don't get it one bit. I work construction and have had to tell several to please keep their distance. They get a deer in the headlights look but oh well it's for both of our own good. I've implemented drastic measures for me any my men, we won't ride in the same vehicle to jobsites anymore. And we are adhering to the distancing rule. If I won't risk being in close contact with my guys who practice great hygiene and caution, I'm definitely not risking letting Joe blow get in my face for sure.

I think social distancing used to mean 6 foot apart but I hear tell that distance gets further every day ?
on the water I would say at least several boat lengths unless they are my buds ?
one thing for sure ,with every reason to be off work and the spring in the air the lake was packed I visited yesterday with ALL types of boats and stupidity best I could see from my perch on the bank .
