    Default Let's talk about crankbaits

Instead of spending 6-7 dollars per bandit 100-200-300's what are some models you use with similar results? Or do you feel Bandit's justify the cost? I have not typically pulled cranks in the past but looking to expand the different ways of crappie fishing. I enjoy long and tight lining, but now I would like to learn to pull cranks. Thanks

I have decent luck with flicker shad (Size 5 &7) as well. Also try the store brand at Academy outdoors.

The H2O expres ones? I am guessing I need to get them from 3-5' and 5-8" or something along those lines?

I use the model M and the crank D deep. I'll push my crankbaits with weights in front of them. If I need to go deeper.

While I do have a good selection of 100, 200, & 300 Bandits, I also use Wiggle Warts, Bomber 6A, Sparkle Tails, Rebel Wee R's, and Luhr Jensen Hot Lips Express cranks. Well, "I WILL" use them ... whenever I get started fishing this year.

I won't, however, be "Pulling" cranks ... but will be Pushing them (w/2oz weights) so that I can have shorter lines out (for better boat control, bait tracking closer to boat, and shorter turns ... plus less distance to reel in a fish).

The Arkie 350's seem to work best for me. I have about a 1/2 doz. of the Flickers, but it seems they always need more "adjusting" to run true.

Shortly after this trip I made the follow changes in hooks (VMC In-Line Singles). Works a lot better for me as I'm strictly CPR.

I’ve had great luck with Arkie 350s. I believe they run 8-11 feet deep when cranked which is about 12-13 feet deep for me when trolled and have decent action for only running about $3.60 each.
