    Default Looking at some new rods: Ozark Tony Edgar, BnM Stick

    Hello all,

    I have 8 trolling/jigging Crappie rods that I use. All are the Grizzly Elite 3 piece brush rods and have Shimano Sienna spinning reels.

    Currently, I'm running them in the following configurations:

    • Spider Rigging:
      • 10' 6"
      • Suffix Elite 8 lb Hi-Viz yellow

    • Trolling(back rack):
      • 9' 6"
      • Suffix Elite 8 lb Low-Vis green

    I've been very happy with these. I keep them strung up in rod gloves, in the rod storage on my boat and they are quick/easy to deploy. I feel I'm missing fish by spooking them, so I am considering going to longer poles.

    The factor that eliminates most available options is that I want to stick to 2 piece rods. My rod storage will hold just over 8' long poles.

    The Ozark Rod Tony Edgar Series is 16' and 2 pieces. This seems ideal for what I want. Does anyone have experience with this rod?

    Also, I have a Livescope on my boat, and probably just got sucked into the marketing, but I'm looking at the BnM Stick for single poling.

    Lastly, any reason I should switch from the Shimano Siennas I'm using when I get the new poles?

    Thanks in advance for your input.

    Dos t sound to me like you have much a decision to make. Ozarks are good rods and looks like those fit the bill. I don’t know of any other rod that long that’s 2 piece. That B&M is supposed to be a good rod. Not a spinning reel guy but if those have worked for you I don’t see any reason to change. They would work fine on those rods.

    I have the ozark tony edgar trolling rod in 14' and its 3 piece, I really like them and enjoy them. I have bnm capps and colman rods and bnm pst's also bought a set of southern crappie rods 143T rods. I like them all and they all have their purpose but the ozarks are my favorite by far!

    Now that you mention that, I think it's just an error on their webpage showing that it's 2 piece. The photo clearly shows three pieces.

    Does anyone know of a 2 piece 16' rod? Maybe I'm wanting something that wouldn't be feasible to ship.
