I saw that one the other day.
    Seems overkill to me.
I prefer to be a little kinder to the paper mouths!

Well,he said he used the braid for increased sensitivity, and used a 4lb mono leader to give him a little stretch, so that he got the best of both worlds.

If you have never jig fished with braid your missing out the sensitivity of it is amazing. I have tried braid for spider rigging hated it, tried it pulling cranks hated it, casting hated it. But for straight vertical jig fishings its amazing!

I use 6# braid with 4# fluro leader on my ultralight for 2 reasons:
    1. I discovered i could cast the same jig or beetle spin considerably further than with plain mono.
    2. The pond I fish has numerous bass in the 3-6# range and I broke off a couple in the snags and stumps where they hang with bream and crappie.
I managed to net a 6# Mudfish with this but it was a hollow victory.
I was using an ultrlight Rapala top water plug and he tore the lip out of it.

I like nano line on my spinning reels, no leader, not sure a ten foot leader is needed. I don't loose near as many jigs using braid, and you can shoot a jig a long way with it...

I use a similar set up. The braid fluro combo works well.
