PROCEED WITH CAUTION: I've been wanting a new boat for about 20 years, but all I could think about with the world's INFAMOUS roller coaster economic history is: (1) Putting a large down payment on a boat; (2) having a $250/ mo + payment for five or more years; (3) having to carry boat insurance (another $40/mo) due to it being financed to protect the bank; (4) then getting laid off of my job due to declining economy reasons (no fault of my own); (5) being forced to draw about 1/2 of my normal wage on unemployment benefits (which is scarcely enough to pay the monthly bills); (6) having to restructure my entire budget (in that event) to be able to even live on unemployment; and lastly (but certainly not least), (7) having to stare out the window for months and months at my new boat sitting under the car shelter, knowing I cannot afford to go fishing after paying all of the monthly bills and having no $$$$$$ left over to put gas in it.

Just kinda like my Dad told me...Anybody can buy a boat, but not everybody can afford a boat.
