    Default Boat dealers...

I’m Thinking about buying a new tri-toon from BPS and have a 2016 boat to sale or trade in, has anyone trade with a dealer or do most sell their boat versus trading it in.
just wondering if boats are like cars when yo7 deal with the dealership

    thx

From my experience the last few weeks and hearing from my friends you will be better off selling your boat out right!! NO ONE has anything in stock.
I am looking for a new Xpress CC and no one has anything in stock and will be end of August before they have some come in. I have called EVERYWHERE.

Fella that works for me is in the market for a used tritoon.....Been weeks looking, calling and traveling and nothing to be found worth a crap. Talked to a guy yesterday who listed his tritoon on Facebook, sold it 34 minutes after making the post.

I am gonna post mine for sale in the next day or two I do believe!

Boats are selling like crazy in this area, I have been looking around for a couple of months and seriously looking for the last month. The only used boats around here that are for sale for any length of time are either junkers or way over priced. Lately, any good boat with a halfway decent price is gone in less than a day. I finally gave up and ordered a new boat. I wouldn't think it would be hard to get a good price out of a good boat.

Sell to an individual! You will be glad you did ! Just to see how bad they will try to stick you take it and see what they offer on trade if it’s a good price get it in writing.

One thing to keep in mind when trading in, is you get nothing for ad ons. So no matter how much you've spent on electronics, trolling motors, anything..... Your trade in dollars will be based off hull and motor.

In dealing with our exhibitors in our trade shows,,boat sales, RV sales, Motorcycle and Harley Davidson sales are thru the roof right now and shortages in stock everywhere. Inventory’s are low. If you order any big ticket item,,no guarantees on the wait times to get it. It’s a heck of time to buy due to extremely low interest rates, but manufacturing is behind due to the various COVID -19 shutdowns and everything is not at 100% yet. Don’t trade in,,,good luck!

Sell in the spring, buy in the fall.

Don't let the dealer make money off of you twice.

Sell your old one yourself. Dealer will offer you at least 30% less than what you could get selling it yourself....up to you whether or not dealing with random people is worth it...for me it's a no-brainer because the time spent dealing with random people pays pretty darn well.

I would be willing to bet that if you listed it today, it would be sold by tomorrow with people wanting a boat for the 4th of July holiday and that stimulus money burning a hole in their pocket.

I look up prices on nadaguides for boats and everyone local has them listed for obscene prices compared to "average retail". 30 year old boats and people are wanting 8k for them. People with 2 stroke 60hp motors made in 2003 are wanting $5k.

One guy thought his fishfinder (that hasn't had a firmware update published in 5 years) was worth gold.

It's insane out there right now.

Now, if you're willing to be boatless for a while, sell yours now and wait for inventory to stack up.

Why BPS? I can't imagine why anyone would buy from that place.......especially if you need something after the sale. There's too many good mom and pop pontoon dealers out there to want to do the BPS thing. Please get more than one quote for what you're looking for, and definitely compare options and motor size. BPS is horrible about selling boats with tiny engines, people get too focused on the low price and pay no attention to what engine they're getting.
