    Default Spiderrigging during the spawn

Hey guys I'm relatively new to spider rigging. Our lake temperatures are about to hit the right temperature for the spawn. What changes do you guys make if any for catching crappie in the shallower water? What about your speed, do you keep it around 3 or do you change that up some? Any tips will be much appreciated, thanks!

If your talking 3 mph, that's way too fast. If your talking 3 on the TM, that still may be too fast. I like to be between .3 and .5 mph and sometimes even slower. With my 24v terrova .3 would be about a 1 1/2 on the dial. I long line at .8 and the motor is set on 3.

I spider rig during the spawn a lot. I do it slower than most folks. I would work the drop offs near the spawning areas for the females waiting to move up to do their thing. Good luck and give us a report if you get to go.

Thanks guys! I should have typed .3 mph not 3 mph as my trolling speed. Thanks again for the pro tips!

I do it all the time, go shallow and super slow, I just bump my troll motor along, to keep the noise down, also I use weedless jigs. Remember go slow.
