I mean don’t get me wrong, I’d get rid of the bass and make it a trophy crappie hole
I managed a lake with way too many bass in it and big bg's and lots of them. married woman so my bestie and I started in catching and KEEPIng bass of 12 inches and bigger to filet and eat. after a couple years of taking out hundreds of stunted and deformed bass things straighted up and bass returned to normal sizes and bigger. BG were huge and we took tons of them too. IL so there lousy conservation office told us good luck in getting crappie to stock. But when wife had to sell it was in great shape with fish and a non fisherman bought it. said we could still fish it but then I had other better places to go. ironic now I have LSL with huge numbers of perfect size crappie to stock. IF your in STL area and need them let me know. going to stock buddies lake at innsbruck with them soon.
A several years ago one of our lakes introduced Northern Pike to reduce the crappie population. It worked. Bass fishing got better too. Those pike grew real big. I caught them over 20 lbs. Makes for a good fight

they have been getting rid of the chain pickerel there too. I have told them leave them in, 3 years now, pickerels are bigger than ever. not sure if they are eating up on crappies, but certainly most of the fish are eating the shad atm. Bass are eating the sunfish for sure as I have caught 3 fish this season w/ tails hanging out of their throats lol
Want to get rid of Crappie just post up on a local forum that the Crappie bite is hot and big fish to boot I give it a year and the lake will be cleaned out.
