Default Monday Morning Fishing Trivia #41

There was a man from Arkansas that in the late 40's designed a fishing lure. He started out hand carving these baits on his own. The design and style of this lure appeared to be real successful as everyone in town were buying them. He decided to have 24,000 of them mass produced and did. But for some reason they were commercially unsuccessful. Who was this man ? and what was the name of this lure ?
I will give a hint or tell more about it later today and will give the answer and post a pic tonight.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.
