Default Orange Crush , Blue Harpoon or Pepto Bismal is .....

    the question
I tried in vain to get Ez to answer his phone . I texted and called and began to worry .
I got there and not a soul on his walkway nor a soul on his dock .
I told myself stop worrying , he is sleeping or something , get busy with some jigs while you got time .
Dropped the Orange Crush on them first and it was doing so so ….
Changed up to the Blue Harpoon and it got pretty good ….
went to the Pepto Bismal last and it was FLAT OUT the hammer …..
So keep in mind this ,even though Professional types often say color don't matter .
Its more about size and location and etc etc etc .
This I am here to tell you from countless hours and years a dunking jigs in the water ……..
JUST IS WHAT IT IS ! Color most definitely can make a difference in a herd of cooperative fish .
So next time you hit the water carry an assortment of colors and a few different sizes as well . Size can matter quite a bit ,but just as for sure so can the color .
This comes as a tip from a guy who got his thumb shredded and his shoulder sore on a little lunchbreak yesterday post rain and cold front pushing thru .
Fish were pretty close to the bottom and most wanted it to EVER so slowly coming up just a few inches at a time . More than a rise of 2 foot from 2 foot off the bottom as a start required it to be put back down and repeated .
no ballcap required and it was boy girl boy girl ….

Sore shoulders and thumbs from slamming fish is definitely a first world problem! Well done!

I love the spring crappie fling , it allows one to ketch on whatever they want to use and how they might want to use it .
one just has to love big dumb springtime upset crappie no doubt .
I have a custom/special color I like in the spring on that lake and I sent my bud over there with JUST one of them .
he told me he landed at least 50 fish with it and asked if he could have one more when I saw him the next day .
said a big one took it and I was like nope ! I split my stash last year with you on them and I only got about 5 or 6 left .

Gosh, with that combo I thought you had just invented a new beer chaser! All kidding aside, you had a great day on the water!
