    Default Good info

I hope this is allowed. Here is a youtube video with some really good info on crappie and their life cycle.

    YouTube
Crappie spawning and morels popping up at the same time. What was God thinking when he made that schedule. It's pure torture every spring deciding which to do.
Thanks kycreek thanked you for this post

Watched most of it & the info was pretty good .... but, the Blacknose/Magnolia/Hybrid Crappie info was a little "off base" IMHO. Specifically in regard to calling "all" Blacknose Crappie a "Magnolia Crappie" was the biggest contention point to me. But, at least he did say that a Blacknose Crappie was "not" a hybrid cross between a White & Black Crappie (which was the suggestion of the question put to him).

It was also noted that the length of daylight was a contributing factor to the starting point of a spawn (but in conjunction with water temps/stable water levels). Years ago we had a couple of members argue about the length of daylight being a factor, which ultimately ended the membership of one of those members because of the language & spite towards the opposing member. Ironically, the member that got kicked off the site was the one advocating for the contributing factor of the length of daylight. Had he not gone the route of his spiteful language & vengeance (& followed the unwritten rule of "agree to disagree with civility") he may still be a member.
