    Default Crappie.com

Yes I tried my Crappie.com ballcap yesterday .
Now mind you the competition was stiff , when I went over to my buds dock there were already FIVE guys on it ! They were in every spot fish are known to hang .Sort of let the wind out of my sails to say the least but I fully expected to see just exactly what I found since my bud is out of town and left the gate unlocked .
None the less I just went on about what I set out to do and ketched a few . I was invited and got the ok to bring my bud that knows my bud with me . We got to leave with some fish in his basket and it was slow to be sure , but them boys probably hurt about as many as we left with .
So it would have likely been closer to a limit than a dozen plus a few if we were just trying to ketch fish without so much company on board . The fish were deep at first and suspended later in the day . Several hit the jigs like spring time fish and my largest fish came unbuttoned on the hoist .
They were still liking purple best and a few took a pretty natural color I dropped as well . Pretty much about even keepers to throwbacks and of course a few bass had to interrupt the jig dropping along the way as well .
Sweeping the jig on the suspended fish worked real well and the deeper fish wanted it ever so slightly risen . The traffic on the way over was horrible as the entire world had moved to the DFW metromess and it took over an hour to get there on a what is normally a 30 minute drive
I had plans to hit another spot this morning but I was told by housekeeping I was housekeeping this morning

Had to take locks off for Corps marina inspection. They went back on tonight. But locks don't stop a lot of people.

the guy in the yak up inside the slips was polite but none the less he was not invited and for sure trespassing ,which I explained to him ever so politely as well ….
I wasn't near as polite to other crew standing in the all the honey holes when I got there but I was feeling brave as I had BIG Ray with me and them fellas all kinda looked at him with them deer in the headlights eyes ,while I jaw jacked about are you invited by Ez to be here and how come I never seen you before if you were invited and did you talk to Ez today and where were you when we were working on the slip and putting out the brush you are jigging in and etc etc and so on and so forth
Sure is nice to have a big ole policeman with ya when you start up with the bla bla bla
