Rabbit Hair jig for crappie?

Here a picture of the jig when dry, and yeah I think it look big/long for normal size crappie. I choose 1/8 oz because I’ll use this jig to troll or 10’ deep under slip bobber. A week ago I had a guy told me he saw a bunch of crappie suspended at around 10 FOW. I also have a spot (under big tunnel) that I can troll back and forth early morning which I had a lot of luck last year.

I use mostly 1/8 heads over here. But I like to keep my body a little closer to size of jig next to the black ones. Maybe just a little longer. You keep dragging them around and you should hook up with some of them big southern cal bass. Need to see one of them big 10’s on that jig.

Try using micro zonker strips on a smaller jig. Micro zonkers are stripped to less than 1/8 " wide. Along with rabbit zonkers look into pine squirrel zonker strips and mink zonker strips. At one time I had some cross cut micro strips. Can't seem to find them now. Anyway using the real thin cross cut zonkers. I tied some abolute killers on 1/64 oz jig head using No 4 and No 6 jig hooks.

Along with other comments found zonker strips to be way more durable than marabou. Try to get finished jig to resemble a shad like profile. White and chartreuse or mix of both proved to be the most effective for me.
