Default Perspective Mode update for Panoptix Livescope

The Perspective Mode update for Panoptix Livescope worked for me finally. Now just have to wait for the bracket to turn it. Or make a makeshift one myself.

This is a pic of holding it horizontally in water by hand. That seems to be the only way to turn it on to see if it's actually installed correctly.

I tried to do the update twice yesterday on my 122sv and my unit won't read or recognize the files. I even did the active captain setup and downloaded the app on my phone and can't get the two to sync. Any tips you could provide would help, I'm assuming you had issues as well as you stated the update "finally" worked for you.

I just could not find the right place to download the file. Just download it, and un-zip it to an SD card, and stick it in your Garmin unit. I did not use the Garmin Express app. at all.

Here's the link I used: Garmin: echoMAP with SD Card Updates & Downloads

Got it to work, for some reason yesterday I was only getting partial downloads of the files. Good to go now, will give it a try hopefully tomorrow. Perspective Mode update for Panoptix Livescope

Got the DIY angle bracket implemented just fine, eg.. the 90 degree piece of PVC. Of course this in temp only, as to use it the old way it'll have to be mounted back to "vertical" again.

Honestly, I'm not impressed. Pictured above is my sea wall, and of course that's easily seen, but anything else is hard to make out. I suppose if it wasn't so windy out as it was, and the boat was still, I'd be able to see moving fish better. But right now, my opinion is, eh.. I love it in the vertical view, and this horizontal view is a great idea, but like I said, as of right now I'm not impressed. Time will tell.

Thanks for sharing, I have started hearing reports that are pretty much the same as yours. I am working on my bracket now trying to figure out what angle I need to have mounted on the pole to make sure I get the best view. I hope to try mine out tommorow.

Don’t have one but my opinion is from videos and pictures I have seen it is going to take some practice and adjustments to get anywhere close to what you see in normal orientation.

It may be the angle of the pic but it appears the 7 degree tilt built into the mount has your transducer looking up...rather than tilted down.

I don't have a LS & not likely to be buying one in the near future ... but, I'm wondering why this bracket setup is "manual" operated (which means you'd have to pull the TM or mounting bar up to change from one position to the other) ?? Wouldn't it be better to have a cable (push/pull) or a motorized system that would position the LS transducer from "normal" view to "wide" view ??

I'll be waiting on Cane Pole or rnvinc to come up with one of those systems
