Welcome to the club. Tournaments are fun, challenging, and exhilarating all at the same time. Not like any other day on the water. Your under a time crunch, and you quickly realize you can burn an hour on a bad choice. The hardest part is putting together a pattern, and staying on active fish. You constantly second your choices, don't. When the scales have been put away and you reflect on how well you did compared to 15 other teams on the water that day, then you can analyze what you should have done differently. The biggest tip. Pay attention to the other teams, note where you saw them on the water, note what poles and jigs are tied on at the beginning of the day and end of day, and note what size fish they were catching. Compare your day to theirs. You cant possible track 15 other teams, so pick one or two to start.
Any body can win. My goal is to have fun and learn. I could care less if I win money. The misses asks two questions at the end of the day. Did you have fun, and more importantly, how many fish are you bringing home?
