I run 14ft SCR's and when I purchased holders from Gene he recommended using 2 and spacing them 7 to 7.5 ft apart. I went with 7ft and have had zero issues. A third one wasn't really a good option on my boat but I did consider it.

I run 16' and 18' rods on mine with only 2 supports (not Millenniums but that does not matter) for several years and have not had a rod problem yet. I'm not saying 3 might not be better but in my opinion not needed if you can space and locate properly.

    I agree...I only have (2) risers and I'm loading 14's and 16's in mine...no issues.

I use three risers . I use rods from six feet to fourteen feet depending on lake and fishing style. Two post set-up does not work well for short rods. If only using long rods I would have used two risers but have much more options with the third riser. To each his own I just like the option of carrying short or long rods with all being out from under my feet.

I use 3 that Hitek made for me. they're spaced out so I can carry 14' down to 7' with no problems. The way I had him make them for me I've carried 8-14' 2-10' and 2 -7' at the same time. I just have to be careful that there's no loose ends or they get tangled.

I carry 14 footers, 12 footers, and shorter dock shooters.
The center rack allows for the shorter rods.
Bought two complete sets from Millennium to get 3.
Didn’t know about Gene at that time.

Same here on the 2 millenniums, space them right and you can run 8 to 14 ft rods. I will say I bent one of mine by accident, was able to get it straightened out. Point is they're strong and durable. I took a 3 hr road trip down to Ga. this past weekend and my rods traveled flawlessly
