Come on now, not necessary. I think your intentions are in the right place and I doubt anyone is happy this tragic incident happened. I think excitement over shadowed good judgement in this particular incident and it's truly saddening. This is still a really rare occurrence. To have staff manning security cameras 24 hours a day 365 days a year in the slight coincidence this may ever happen anytime soon is a bit much. If it was a weekly, monthly, or heck even an annually occurring issue then maybe then. I would say in case like this when launching and fishing next to a big dam drawing that much current if your big motor isn't in working condition you should be forced to call it a day in a tournament situation like this. Really can't point any fingers or fault anyone in cases like this, it's just an unfortunate accident. Prayers for the family and the rescuers involved.

Doesn’t have to be a weekly, monthly, or annual event. Once is too much and this isn’t the only time. This can be fixed, and should be fixed. Now I do realize that I’m not one of the main guys on here. If Cane Pole, M R Dux , you, or any of the other guys had said what I had said then I think there would be some different sentiments said on here. I mean, we did cause such an uproar about the carp that we wanted the government to step in. Our priorities are not in the right place.

Please everyone, let’s not forget that 3 lives were lost and many, many others will be affected from this tragedy.
Opinions matter but playing “Arm Chair Quarterback isn’t going to change what has happened.
I myself posted my opinion on what MAY have helped prevent this terrible occurrence. I am sorry for that and will continue to focus on prayers for the families and friends of the victims.

I don't know the "main guys" and am certainly not biased against you. I'm sure you are a great guy. I simply have an alternate view. Any time you post on a public message board, you should expect that not everybody will agree with your view. That doesn't make us evil. Or callous. The fact that the "like" count is greater on the prayer comments than the other posts is an indication that the horror of the tragedy and the concern for the families outweighs any opinion we may have.

Ok....it would have been better to have started a new thread for comments and discussion about how to prevent from happening again instead of disrupting a thread calling for prayers. That's my thoughts.
    Prayers continued for the familys.

There's time after the bodies are recovered and the families get closure to arm chair quarterback what and why caused this tragedy. We all have our own ideas what can be done to prevent it in the future. My continued prayers for the families and those who are searching for the bodies.

We had 3 teen duck hunters drown at the mouth of Little Bear Creek on KY Lake in 2009. The search for the bodies was 49 days long before the last two were recovered. Those teens went down in a known area that was a few hundred yards square. Cold water recoveries are not a quick process in most cases. I can't imagine the pain the families went thru.

We all know the side scan technology is much better now than in 2009 so hopefully they will be located and recovered quickly.
