Default how to get crappie off a submerged tree in 20ft of water

i have been trying to fish a tree underwater i knew should have fish on it. i recently installed livescope on my boat and my conclusions are correct it is stacked with fish. everytime i try to fish it i stay hung up. do i need to anchor and vertical jig, do they make a weedles hook that works. any ideas are greatly appreciated. the tree is 20ft down near the channel edge so current is pulling on boat as well as wind. i see the fish just cant get them.

YES, I would try anchoring but not above structure and then vertical jig it with weedless jig. There are numerous weedless jigs but I would just make one using mono. It has worked good for me. The key is go slow straight down and back up with jig and don't set the hook or pull hard unless certain its a fish.

Everything said above. Also a weedless jig and a slip bobber set to the depth of the fish may pay off.

For me I get my boat close enough to veritical jig the piles (I use a 12' rod) and fish the edge of the pile rather than down it. If the fish are somewhat active they will come out of the brush to the jig. What I have seen so far with LS is that the larger fish ussually hang out around the piles on the bottom not inside it. Also I have jigged one side of a brush pile and got nothing and moved to the other side and they start hammering it. Your mileage may vary.
    Good luck!!

Anchor above the structure, if there is enough current to hold boat straight if not I use the trolling motor against the anchor to move and hold tighter to the structure. Me I would run braid that way when getting hung up I can usually pull it free.

Weedless jighead or Texas rigged CB Slider, 12’ rod, and anchor away from it with the trolling motor helping.

Keep your Trolling motor wash out of the Tree..Fish up wind..Cast or pitch to the tree..Sometimes they want a jig with a spinner Roadrunners, sometimes without..
Smallest hook you can use we prefer #4.
We use Crappie nibbles..On Barb of hook..
On or over the barb..The crappie nibble when wet is very slick acts as a weed Guard...We Fish lots of hook eating trees in our lake..Hope this helps..Add Slab sauce for A slimmer Jig....Don't tell anyone..Top sceret..or G sauce...

Set out a light at night over the tree then wait for the crappie to rise up to your baits above. Put em in the box.
